YOU WILL NOT NEED TO REMOVE ANY CLOTHING. Some clients prefer to remove their shoes but this is optional. Should a crystal or energy healer/practitioner ask you to remove your clothing, you have every right to leave immediately and issue a complaint to their organisation.

HEALERS DO NOT NEED TO TOUCH YOUR PHYSICAL BODY. Please note that at the start of a session, a healer may briefly touch your shoulders and at the end of a session your feet. At times, if there are tensions in your shoulders or your limbs, a healer may also briefly touch these but will always ask your permission beforehand. Should you be uncomfortable with this, the healer will not touch you at all.

HEALERS DO NOT COUNTERMAND MEDICAL ADVICE OR TREATMENT. Healers are not medically trained and are, in fact, bound by their code of conduct to advise clients who state they suffer from physical symptoms to seek medical help.

HEALERS MUST NOT GIVE YOU A TREATMENT YOU HAVE NOT ASKED FOR OR ARE UNAWARE OF.  If you have come for an Energy healing only, your practitioner must not use crystals or give you a massage. If a practitioner uses any tools such as sound or flowers, they will have made you aware of this before the healing session starts and obtained your agreement.

What is Crystal and Energy Healing?

Energy Healing is a subtle energy therapy in which natural energies are channelled by a healer in order to help promote health and well being to the individual as a whole. Crystal Healing is Energy Healing with the use of crystals as tools to help shape and focus these energies and is therefore a more specialised form of healing. These therapies are complementary to both conventional medicine and alternative medicine.

It is important to establish that crystal and energy healers address causes of ailments and not the symptoms. The way this is done is that practitioners assess the condition of the various systems within the bio-magnetic field (aura) of a client and then address these where appropriate. Crystal healers/practitioners also use appropriate crystals to help bring these systems back into balance and harmony. It may be important to add that the whole make up of an individual, including emotional and thought patterns form part of his/her auric field and the systems within it. It is also important to add that these systems are not situated within the physical body and are therefore known as ‘subtle anatomy’ rather than ‘anatomy’.

One exception is the meridian system, which is what Acupuncturists mainly focus on. Meridians are energy lines that run through the physical body. A great number of energy points are situated along these lines and this highly complex system strongly relates to and directly affects most organs within the physical body, which is why Acupuncture is known as an alternative form of healing rather than complementary. Acupuncturists also diagnose and treat physical symptoms and their lengthy training reflects this.

Crystal & Energy healers/practitioners are not trained or permitted to diagnose physical ailments, give advice on medical treatments or claim to be able to address or cure specific physical symptoms.

How can Crystal and Energy healing help?

• Crystal & Energy healing support individuals to reach a state of wholeness within themselves on all levels of their being.
• The state of the bio-magnetic field ultimately has a connection to the physical body as a whole, which is why crystal and energy healing can also help activate and support the natural self-healing processes.
• The profound relaxation process that forms part of all healing sessions can help reduce stress and negative stress is more often than not a co-cause as well as a by-product of any form of disease or unwell-ness.
• Most forms of healing can help promote states of deep inner peace.
• Healing often helps to bring unresolved emotional and thought states to light that can subsequently be addressed and released by the individual.
• You do not have to be ill in order to receive healing. Healing can also promote ‘wellness’!

This is a simplified and initial view of healing and how it can be of benefit.

Before the Healing Session

• Make sure your practitioner is qualified in the treatment they are giving you. If crystals or flower remedies are used, the practitioner must be qualified in these therapies.
• Make sure your practitioner adheres to a code of conduct and belongs to a healing organisation.
• Make sure you know how long the session will last, if there is a waiting room should you wish to take someone along and what the fee is and by what method you can pay this.
• Check transport, parking facilities and make sure you are on time.

What you can expect during an energy or crystal healing session.

• The practitioner will clearly outline to you what is involved in the treatment and answer any questions you may have.
• You will be asked to fill in a consultation form.
• You may be asked to sit on a chair, lie on a therapist’s couch or on a suitable space on the floor during the treatment.
• The healer will help you to relax and (in the case of crystal healing) may then place some crystals on and/or around your body.
• You may experience slight tingling, warmth or coolness or nothing at all.
• Most clients are deeply relaxed and at times fall asleep.
• When the session is finished, the practitioner will ensure that you are back to a state of full alertness and, if appropriate, may offer you some self-help suggestions.

Please note the following:

• Changes occur on subtle levels before manifesting in the physical.
• At times, existing issues may slightly intensify before being released This occurs usually within three days of a treatment and the healer will always explain to a client what to expect or do should this happen.
• Usually a session does not last more than one hour and often one session may be sufficient to help restore balance and well-being.
• When issues are severe or deeply rooted, it may be necessary for a client to have several sessions in order to integrate the healing and the inevitable changes in stages. The practitioner will discuss this with the client.
